I. Policy Statement 

The president of University of Texas at Austin (“University”), or his or her designee, has the authority to approve all classified employee appointments.

II. Reason for Policy 

To establish authority for approving classified employee appointments within the University.

This policy applies to all classified employees.

VII. Responsibilities & Procedures 

All appointments are approved by the President on nomination by the appropriate administrative officer and recommendation by the Associate Vice President for Human Resources. The President may delegate approval authority with respect to specified positions or categories of positions to the Associate Vice President for Human Resources.
